About the Role

Sutherland is looking for a skilled and experienced Network and Security Engineer L2 to design, implement, and manage network infrastructure while ensuring the highest level of security. The role is focused on maintaining the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the organization’s network and security resources. You will play a key role in proactively identifying and mitigating network and security risks while supporting overall network operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and implement LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN solutions, ensuring smooth and secure network operations.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and migrations while maintaining detailed documentation for configurations and network topology.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct regular maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades and patch management.
  • Implement and manage security solutions such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.
  • Develop and enforce security policies and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Perform security audits, vulnerability assessments, and maintain security device configurations.
  • Provide technical support to resolve network and security-related issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business continuity.
  • Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and network security logs for management review.
  • Stay current on the latest networking and security trends, tools, and best practices to ensure optimal performance and protection.

Qualifications & Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in network administration and security.
  • Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching) and security practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco network devices (routers, switches), firewalls, VPN, and security technologies (IDS/IPS, SIEM).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, and others.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and security (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with compliance standards (PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR) is preferred.
